Making Chocolate Go Further

Gluten free, dairy free, fair trade chocolate is not always cheap, so come birthday party time I like to make it stretch.

Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, or if you want a fancy set up like mine you can put water in a frying pan then rest a cooling rack on it then sit a saucepan on the top, I’m posh like that.

While the chocolate is melting chop some dates and almonds.  If you’re not sure how much you want, you can lay them on the now empty chocolate wrapper to get an idea of how much it will be once it’s n the chocolate.

Once the chocolate is melted stir the dates and almonds through, then spread it on an oven sheet lined with non-stick paper.  Let it set at room temperature, chocolate tends to turn white if it is refridgerated.  When set break in to pieces and enjoy.
